One Ph.D. and one M.Sc. graduate student position are available in Dr. Diniz’s Lab (Laboratory of Livestock Genomics and Bioinformatics) in the Department of Animal
Sciences at Auburn University, Auburn – AL.
The student will develop and pursue research projects on one of the following
topics:
1 – Identifying biomarkers related to the reproductive potential and performance of heifers using omics technologies;
2 – Investigating the genomic basis of maternal nutrition in the offspring programming.
Thesis projects will be conducted in collaboration with colleagues in the Department of Animal Sciences - at Auburn University, Auburn- AL, and (or) North Dakota State
University. The research assistantship includes a competitive stipend and tuition waiver, and the successful candidate can start their graduate programs in the spring semester of 2025.
Candidates with a strong background in animal science, reproduction physiology, genomics, and/or previous experience in omics data analyses are highly encouraged to apply. Experience with bioinformatics and omics data analyses would be advantageous.
Who are we?
We are a new research group looking for enthusiastic, curious, and passionate collaborators to join our team. We are inspired by interdisciplinary and collaborative work
at the intersection of nutrition, physiology, genomics, and bioinformatics to address research questions positively impacting the livestock industry and society. We are
particularly interested in applying functional genomics and systems biology methods to gain insights into the genomic basis of beef cattle fertility and the crosstalk between
nutrigenomics, fertility, and fetal development in livestock species.
We offer a new and exciting work environment with the tools and knowledge to make you succeed in your career. See more on the AU and Animal Sciences websites.
